Primers and Detonators. Anthem has three main types of damage. While one isn’t exactly much to write home about, the other two complement each other. Below are all the types of damage that can be dealt to enemies in the game: Primer: These attacks coat enemies with an elemental effect that can be detonated for extra effects.
As Anthem gets closer and closer to release, fans are pouring over all the developer commentary and videos to get the best understanding of BioWare's highly anticipated title possible leading up to launch. One of the biggest features of the game are the four Javelin exosuits that players can wear while exploring the world. Carpeggio on Reddit went through every bit of information available for the Javelins and created a handy table breaking down the various damage types available to each suit.
- Anthem’s latest details of Loot Inscriptions and how they work in Anthem.% Dmg. Increases electric damage.% Effect. Increases the number of electric.
- Anthem’s best stuff comes in the form of both Masterwork and Legendary ranks. Each one gives a better output of damage and better inscriptions compared to the Epic gear, but they also come with an added bonus effect.
Anthemwill feature four different Javelins: the Ranger, the Colossus, the Storm, and the Interceptor. The Ranger is the well-rounded Javelin. According to the damage chart, the Ranger can wield nearly every element in some form, and also features a shield and buff ability. The Colossus is the heavy-duty Javelin that excels at taking and dishing out damage in exchange for maneuverability. It features more fire and explosive-based abilities, and also has buff and taunt abilities. The Storm is the element-focused Javelin, which can fly over the battlefield and reign down fire, ice, and electric damage when needed. Lastly the Interceptor is the speedy Javelin that can get in and out of a fight fast, perfect for hit-and-run tactics. It also features a good variety of elements, though many are melee focused.
Those wanting to try out the various Javelins, or Anthem in general, have an opportunity coming up ahead of launch. EA and BioWare are hosting VIP and public demos for potential players to try, letting everyone give the game a shot before diving in at launch. Players can hop in the demo to see which Javelin suit is right for them so when launch day comes around they will be ready to tackle whatever BioWare throws their way.
Players have also pieced together other key parts of the game thanks to various developer livestreams, including how the loot system will work in Anthem. Much like Destiny, Diablo, and other loot-driven games, Anthem will feature various loot rarities to chase after as players try to perfect their Javelins. Combining the rich loot pool with the Javelin specializations, players could potentially craft many builds for any given situation. Hopefully the loot system will be rich enough to keep players engaged and having fun for a long time.
