Do Magmacubes Rake Fall Dmg Minecraft

Magma cubes are basically the slimes of the Nether, but they differ from slimes in several ways. Besides their obvious difference in appearance, magma slimes also move differently. Instead of hopping like slimes, magma cubes separate into 8 different layers when they jump to move forward, somewhat resembling a spring.

Fall

A creeper can jump down to a player if it can survive the fall. The fall 1.5 second delay includes the falling time, so an explosion occurs sooner after landing with higher falls. Creepers can climb up ladders and vines like any other mob, but do not do so intentionally. Creepers can be forced to explode by using a flint and steel. Apr 26, 2014 Does anyone know why this happens? Is it because they fall directly on the golems and do fire damage to them? Or do they straight up attack Iron Golems? Can anyone tell me why? And if not, does anyone know a good way to either kill the Magma Cubes or keep them out of my farm entirely? Any help would be appreciated.

When a large or small magma cube dies, it can drop 0-1 Magma cream. They also drop experience points, which vary per size. A big cube drops 4 experience points, a medium cube drops 2 and a small cube drops 1 point. However, like slimes, a large and medium cube can split into smaller versions when it dies. Each cube will split into 2-4 smaller versions, which means you can earn a maximum of 36 points for killing a large magma cube and each of its smaller versions. The minimum amount you will earn is 16 experience points.

Occurrence and behavior

Magma cubes can be found throughout the Nether, though they’re usually stuck in the lower parts as they have no AI that prevents them from jumping off of cliffs. They can also be found or heard near lava lakes.

Like all other Nether monsters, magma cubes are immune to lava and fire. Magma cubes will not drown when they’re submerged by lava, but will be trapped if there’s no way to hop out of it, as they can’t swim.

Magma cubes take no fall damage and they can jump 4 blocks high. Which is something you’ll want to take into consideration if you’re planning on building a safe house in the Nether.

Killing and surviving magma cubes

The splitting effect of magma cubes makes them a bit tricky to defeat, as it increases the total amount of damage you have to do and the total amount of damage that can be done against you. However, magma cubes don’t do a lot of damage, a large magma cube only does up to 3 hearts worth of damage. But their large numbers can overwhelm a player and push him into a lava pit or over the edge of a cliff as their jumping numbers block out your view.

The easiest method to kill them is by simply using a bow until at least the large cube has died, after that it doesn’t take too much to finish off the other cubes. Small cubes can be killed by a single blow of any sword. Medium cubes require 2 strikes from a diamond sword.

Unlike the tiny slimes, the small magma cubes can hurt the player, but only with the bottom part of their bodies. So as long as you stand higher than them, none of them will hurt you.

Magma cube farms can be ridiculously hard to build in Minecraft. But don't give up just because you can't put water in the Nether! Here are some tips on helping you build a farm.

  • 2Spawn area

Differences from Slimes[επεξεργασία | επεξεργασία κώδικα]

If you've built a slime farm, this will be easy. The only things different from slime farms are:

  • Spawn areas
  • Portal rooms
  • Fall damage will not harm magma cubes
  • No water in the Nether
  • Tiny cubes are harmful
  • May need to filter out other mobs (the piston squeezers will fix most problems)

Spawn area[επεξεργασία | επεξεργασία κώδικα]

This might be the toughest bit. Find an area to spawn the magma cubes. Try checking near a nether fortress. Then build flat spawning pads, then enclose it with blocks.

Drop holes and the reducer[επεξεργασία | επεξεργασία κώδικα]

Since the magma cubes blindly jump in one direction before switching directions after ages, dig some wide holes for largest type of magma cube to fall in and add pressure plates to the bottom, then link it up to some sticky pistons to crush the cube's head to cut it into medium cubes which will be crushed also. Make this one block above the plates or 2 if you need magma cream. Add some holes at the side of the plates for the tiniest cubes to fall out. If you wish to receive magma cream from your farm enlarge the output drop holes to 2 blocks high and wide for bigger cube crushing and depositing. They will fall into a portal room.

Portal Room[επεξεργασία | επεξεργασία κώδικα]

Due to their movement pattern, they can be portaled through into the Overworld by filling the room with portals. Link these to the overworld, where you can place water. Since these mobs don't take damage from falling you don't need to care about the distance of the drop.

The Main Farm[επεξεργασία | επεξεργασία κώδικα]

Once the cubes fall into the portals they can fall into a water canal system. If you let the medium cubes through, add a water grinder composed of a floor of signs with water at the top. The area where the signs are on should be hoppers that link up to a chest room, like this:

H - hoppers linking to collection room

S - sign/other water-blocker block

W - water

Then carry the tiny cubes over to the collection room. Now start an xp farm area.

If you want this farm ONLY to do magma cubes, add a water elevator for zombie pigmen and wither skeletons etc. to transport them to a despawn tank or a separate farm or anything else that stops them interfering with your farm.
